Uniform

Our school uniform is practical and appropriate for activities undertaken in school, it also brings together a sense of community, togetherness and equality. We encourage all our children to take a pride in their appearance and understand that whilst wearing their uniform they are representing the school. Children wear P.E. Uniform to school on P.E. Days. As this is worn all day this uniform is as important as our everyday uniform.

  • Navy  or black sports shorts (no hot pants or cycling shorts)

  • PE t-shirt - pale blue with or without school logo

  • Plimsolls / trainers - plain black or navy

  • Socks - plain black, navy or white

In cold weather we suggest children wear:

  • Jogging pants  or leggings - navy blue

  • Hooded Sweatshirt / fleece –navy blue with or without school logo

Please note
  • Branded items of sportswear should not be worn

Outdoor Clothing

Pupils should bring a coat to school each day (unless it is warm and dry) which needs to be practical and appropriate for the weather. A hooded jumper does not constitute a coat.

Bags and belongings

Space in cloakrooms is limited therefore large rucksacks and bags are not permitted. A book bag is a sensible option and is recommended for carrying books, homework, letters and other materials to and from school. Personal belongings from home should not be brought into school unless this is with prior arrangement with the class teacher.

Hats, Headscarves or Headwear

Woolly hats in the winter, and peaked caps in the summer are important ways of protecting children against extreme weathers. However, pupils should remember to remove them when inside the school building unless it is due to religious or cultural reasons. The wearing of scarves and snoods is a serious health and safety concern. These items could get caught on something or accidentally pulled and cause strangulation, therefore children are not allowed to wear these items at school.

Naming Clothing and Property

VERY IMPORTANT – Please ensure all clothing and property is clearly marked so that lost articles may be easily traced and returned. The school cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of pupils’ property and valuables.

Footwear

Pupils must wear sensible, leather/synthetic leather closed-toed, plain, all black shoes (no boots of any sort) which can be securely fastened. Open-toed sandals, trainers, heeled shoes, slip on shoes and boots are not appropriate for school.

Children are welcome to attend school wearing clothing with or without the school logo.
