Equality Objectives
We are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers receiving services from the school, irrespective of race, gender, disability, faith, religion or socio-economic background. We work hard to foster a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and are able to participate fully in school life.
We aim to foster and develop good relationships between all people in the local community. We want our school environment and ethos to be welcoming and inclusive to all people. We strive for a culture of openness and fairness where all people are treated with dignity and respect.
Our Equalities Policy describes the range of things we do within lessons, assemblies and extra-curricular activities to promote tolerance, friendships and to develop an understanding of different cultures and religions. This policy meets the requirements of The Equality Act 2010, which introduced the public sector equality duty and protects people from discrimination.
Equality Objectives 2022 - 2025
Having referred to and analysed our equality information, we have set ourselves the following objective(s):
Objective 1: To improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils plus Gypsy, Roma & Traveller pupils so that they reflect appropriate progress from their various starting points.
Objective 2: To ensure that the progress of pupils with SEN is at least in-line with their peers.
